Gain insights on grants, funding, resources and more for your business from the SBA
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is a federal agency dedicated to helping small businesses succeed. They provide:
Access to Capital – SBA doesn’t usually lend directly but partners with banks, credit unions, and lenders to help small businesses secure funding with favorable terms. Programs include 7(a) loans, 504 loans, and microloans.
Counseling & Training – Through local Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs), Women’s Business Centers, and SCORE mentors, entrepreneurs can get free or low-cost business advising and workshops.
Federal Contracting Opportunities – SBA helps small businesses compete for government contracts through set-aside programs, certification (e.g., 8(a), HUBZone, Women-Owned, Veteran-Owned), and training.
Disaster Assistance – Provides low-interest loans to businesses, homeowners, and renters impacted by declared disasters.
Advocacy – SBA works to ensure that the interests of small businesses are represented in federal policymaking.
